1) Acceptance
By using Jade, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
2) Eligibility
You must be legally able to enter a contract in your jurisdiction to use Jade. If you are under the age of majority, use Jade only with parent/guardian permission.
3) Service
Jade is a Chinese dictionary and learning app. Features may include offline lookup, flashcards/decks, generated explanations, and related study tools. Some features require internet access.
4) Accounts
Jade may create a pseudonymous app account automatically to preserve progress. You may also create or link an email/password account. You are responsible for your account activity and credentials.
5) Paid Features and Subscriptions
Some features require a paid plan ("Pro"). Subscriptions are billed by Apple App Store or Google Play (or other storefront shown at purchase) and may auto-renew unless canceled.
Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled by your storefront and subject to its terms. You can manage/cancel in your storefront account settings.
6) User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit (for example, prompts, deck content, and reports).
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, and use that content only to operate, secure, improve, and provide Jade.
If you choose a public visibility setting for generated content or decks, that content may be visible to other users.
7) Acceptable Use
Do not misuse Jade. You must not:
- violate law or third-party rights,
- attempt unauthorized access or disrupt the service,
- scrape or reverse engineer Jade except where law expressly permits it.
8) AI and Content Disclaimer
Jade may provide automated or AI-assisted outputs. These outputs may be incomplete or incorrect and are provided for informational/language-learning purposes only. You should verify important information independently.
9) Changes, Suspension, and Termination
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain quality, security, or legal compliance.
We may suspend or terminate access for misuse, legal risk, or violations of these Terms.
10) Warranty Disclaimer and Liability Limit
Jade is provided "as is" and "as available," to the maximum extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data/profits.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11) Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules.
If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence still apply.
12) Disputes
If you have a dispute, contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally.
If informal resolution fails, disputes are resolved by competent courts in Germany unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
13) Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
