This Privacy Policy explains how Carlo Hafeneger ("Jade," "we," "us") processes personal data when you use Jade.

  • Account data: pseudonymous app account identifier, Firebase user ID, and email address if you sign up.
  • Learning content: lookups, text you submit for explanation/generation/translation/audio features, deck and flashcard content, and reports you submit.
  • Purchase data: subscription/entitlement status and related billing metadata from app storefronts and subscription infrastructure.
  • Technical/security data: app version, device/platform signals, request metadata (including anti-abuse and app integrity signals), and diagnostics needed for reliability and fraud prevention.
  • Support/legal data: information you send us in support, legal, or privacy requests.

3) Why We Use Data

We use data to:

  • provide dictionary and study features,
  • sync account-linked learning data,
  • run paid features and subscription access control,
  • improve safety, reliability, and abuse prevention,
  • respond to support, legal, and privacy requests,
  • comply with legal obligations.

4) Legal Bases (EEA/UK)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on:

  • performance of a contract,
  • legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, service improvement, support),
  • legal obligations,
  • consent where required.

5) Sharing and Processors

We use service providers that process data on our behalf, including:

  • Google/Firebase (authentication, database, cloud infrastructure, app integrity services),
  • RevenueCat and mobile app storefronts (subscription and entitlement processing),
  • AI and speech providers used to generate language outputs.

We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

6) International Transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

7) Public and Private Content

Some features allow private or public visibility settings.

If you choose public visibility (for example, public decks or public generated content), that content may be visible to other users.

8) Retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless longer retention is required by law.

Local on-device data remains on your device unless you clear it or uninstall.

Account deletion and data deletion requests are handled by feature scope and applicable law.

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely risk-free.
